This photograph belongs to a series of dynamic images Stieglitz made of New York of 1910. It appeared in the October 1911 issue of Camera Work along with eight other examples of his lyrical urban modernism--a contemporary vision certainly not lost on Coburn, Struss, and Strand. (The MET)
